A few of the most popular house made beers are the steadfast 76 Wolverine Lager, the classic ‘Don’t Lose Your Dinosaur’ IPA and the smooth Otis Breakfast Stout.

This fishing themed brewery features easy drinking ales, stouts, and sours, as well as yummy small and large food plates, that’ll be sure to have you hooked. Try the full-bodied Gingerbread Cookie Ale, the expresso-tasting Nitro Coffee Stout, or the tart, pink Haskap Berry Sour. Of course the prize catch is the fantastic south-facing, dog-friendly patio, and the awesome service.

Everyone knows that beer makes you smarter, so at the Beer Institute they’re sharing their knowledge and passion for small batch, unfiltered, tank-to-tap craft beer. From light to pale, to bitter, to dark, the taproom focuses on easy drinking ales. Savour a Citratooth IPA or a Cherry Blonde Ale with a hand-crafted pizza on one of the two outdoor patios.

Named after an old race boat from the heydays of the Kelowna Regatta, Red Bird Brewing celebrates the lighter side of the community’s history with beers like, Lady of the Lake Lager, The Captain Kölsch, and Regatta Radler. The tap list is frequently updated with small batch test brews, and the popular brewery’s nest is bursting at the seams, currently expanding the patio and seating area.

Another fixture on the North End brewery scene is Kettle River, where they brew small batches of whatever they feel like right on site. From ‘Business in the Front’ Blonde Ale, to ‘Party in the Back’ Dirty Blonde Ale, they create everything from mild to wild. Their locally famous Loose Canoe IPA promises to get you where you want to go!

If you’re looking for weird beer and classic pizza, this metal-themed North End brewery is the place to go. Combining Northern European ancient brewing techniques with West Coast methods, Jackknife’s go to brews are ‘Hair Straight Back’ Spruce Tip Pale Ale, ‘Wizard Sticks’ Nordic IPA, ‘Hammer of Doom’ Canadian Imperial Stout, and the unforgettable ‘Arcane’ Lithuanian Dark Ale. They have many more exciting seasonal and rotating taps and did I mention great pizza!

A beautifully restored heritage barn is the setting for this flourishing brewery in the Lower Mission area of Kelowna. A comprehensive list of beers include Lakeshore Lager, Don’t Give a Hoot Pale Ale, and Roundabout Radler. With its laid back atmosphere away from the bustle of downtown, and a cute bakery next door, Barn Owl is a perfect place to chill.

Nestled in Kelowna’s Landmark business district, Copper Brewing offers an easy going, approachable vibe with 20 delicious taps to choose from. From their flagship Copper Lager to their Strawberry Rhubarb Nitro Sour, there’s something for everyone… and there’s free Super Nintendo in the booths, along with a variety of card and board games. Oh, and the name Copper is in honour of the co-founders’ Bernese Mountain dog, who adorns the beer cans.

Steps off the Okanagan Rail Trail in the middle of Kelowna’s biggest industrial area you’ll find a small brewery that focuses on bottle conditioned mixed-fermentation ales… the result is delicious beers made as sustainably, ethically, and authentically as possible. Sour beer fans will love ‘Most Likely To’ Plum sour, and ‘Flower Market’ Hibiscus sour, and all beer fans will love the passion and creativity of Wild Ambition.
