Poplar Grove Winery is one of the original five wineries on the Naramata Bench and is a triple threat – beautiful Winery, exceptional restaurant and outstanding wines. The winery boasts an open concept, with floor to ceiling walls of windows to allow for the breathtaking view of the Naramata Bench, Penticton and Okanagan Lake. There are several different areas inside the winery for a tasting experience including in the Barrel room.

The gristmill style architecture of Hillside Winery and Bistro greets you as you drive along Naramata Road. Hillside’s property is rich with history, from the roof beams that date back to the 1800’s, to the surrounding landscaping, to the rock archway. Proud to be, “Naramata Grown and Raised” their wines are simply delicious with a portfolio that includes Icewine and their port-style Soirée Fortified Red.

Driving down the beautiful long driveway, you come upon Bench 1775 Winery – named for the address on Naramata Road. The first think you will notice is their stunning patio overlooking Okanagan Lake, which some consider “The Best Patio in the World”. Enjoy some delicious wine and a small bite while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

Bench 1775 produces three different rosés including a White Merlot Rosé with a lighter & drier tasting profile.

Laughing Stock’s founders started their careers on the stock market and when they decided to start a winery, they brought many financial terms and principles with them. You will see this with the ticker tape on each bottle and names such as Portfolio and Blind Trust. When you arrive for your appointment only experience, you will notice your tasting is in the basement of a house. Don’t let this fool you, Laughing Stock is definitely in a class of its own with their intimate tasting area and exceptional wines.

High up on the Naramata Bench, Lang Vineyards is the oldest family estate winery in the area. Lang Vineyards also has the honour of being the very first recipient of the Farm Gate Winery license in British Columbia, issued to small growers allowing them to start their own operations. After visiting the wine shop, make sure to venture outside onto the patio. There you will enjoy an unobstructed view of Lake Okanagan as well as Giant’s Head mountain across the lake (one of several extinct volcanos in the area). Lang Vineyards is a hidden gem and definitely worth the trip.

Owners Niva & Jeff Martin brought their passion for wine from Australia to British Columbia back in 1994. Originally visiting on a “working holiday” with their daughters, they fell in love with the region and affectionately named their winery La Frenz after Jeff’s grandfather. Their vine covered courtyard that overlooks one of their vineyards with a peek-a-boo lake view is a perfect backdrop for a tasting of their popular red wines.
